The piston pin, also called a gudgeon pin, is a genuine Yuchai engine part, part number L3000-1004019. It joins the piston to the small end of the connecting rod and lets the rod pivot. Wear on the pin or its bush can cause knocking and should be checked during any overhaul. Pins are usually renewed with pistons and small-end bushes.
